I just finished watching the film and wanted to reread your review. Carey Mulligan’s performance was absolutely brilliant. I hope she gets the Oscar.

Just one comment…Graham’s lady friend was named Helen, played by Rosamund Pike. Coincidentally, Pike and Mulligan played two of the Bennet sisters in Pride & Prejudice.

Thanks for the heads up! I really thought he wrote the book as well.

Mulligan definitely carried the film, and Molina played did a fine job heading the dysfunctional family.

Hey,
I really enjoyed your review and I couldn’t agree more about Mulligan’s performance. But Nick Hornby did not author the book, Nick Horby’s screen play was based on a memoir by Lynn Barber, a british journalist.

Thanks for the review, I really enjoyed it.
